Florence
This grand Renaissance city is the cultural heart of Tuscany, greatly admired by its many visitors. It sits on the banks of the River Arno in a natural dip surrounded by impressive mountains.
The city is first and foremost a monument to the Renaissance, to the art and culture or Italy. The Uffizi, Palazzo della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio and Michelangelo Square, to name but a few, attract millions of visitors each year from all over the world. Seeing the beauty of the city, it isn't hard to understand how it inspired the masterpieces of some of the greatest poets, painters, sculptors and artists in the history, especially during the Renaissance. Home to so many illustrious families down the ages, it would be difficult to add anything further to this splendid city. The attractions are too numerous to list, but well worth a visit are the shady Viale dei Colli, and the Michelangelo Square is a great place to sit back and watch the hustle and bustle of the city.
Giving visitors an unforgettable experience, Florence is quite simply one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
